Iowa Speedway

Based on the success of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway and the Lake Eerie Speedway projects, Point Source’s owners were called upon by Architect Paxton Waters and Project Manager Andy Vertrees to design a completely state-of-the-art facility in Iowa, with a racing surface designed by Rusty Wallace, with a media and fan experience never before seen by a relatively short, Midwestern track.

Iowa Speedway was purpose-built to use digital technology to deliver high-definition video, high-performance audio and limitless data communications to the sport. Working with Iowa Telecom, the broadcasters and local contractors, the Principals of Point Source designed systems to accommodate the future of motorsports, and its time has come. The forward-thinking design includes a fiber-optic cable plant, full-range public address system and high-speed data throughout the facility.

Although the systems are largely automated, Point Source is honored to have been asked to provide ongoing race-day operations and services for every event, since the inaugural race in 2006.
