At Point Source, live sound, concert lighting and studio production is in our veins. All of our senior staff members have extensive experience in the music industry from studio recording to amphitheater management. We even have a CMA Venue of the Year award to prove it. We have over 100 years of experience to bring to the table for the design of live venues. Our expertise covers the needs of venues from 100 to 25,000 to make each show the best it can be.
We begin the process with you, the owner, identifying your needs and goals for the facility. Working with your architect, we help create the venue space itself, providing acoustic modeling and material specifications. We then work with your structural and electrical engineers to identify rigging points, power service and cableways required to provide the flexibility your facility will require. Our design lays out signal paths from stage to mixing positions and auxiliary systems used back stage. Based on our models, Point Source then designs the speaker clusters and delays to provide full spectrum coverage. All facility provided equipment is identified and placed into the specifications. Ample allowances for band gear and effects equipment are incorporated into the final plans.
As the project moves toward completion, Point Source staff members certify cable and control signal paths and provide onsite direction during equipment installation. The system is then fully tested and tuned to meet the performance specifications. An initial lighting design is put into place and programmed to verify all elements are operational and ready for live use. We then train the venue staff and provide support through the first uses of the venue.
